Moderation
Tobias is a doctoral student and moderator, whose work revolves around gaining a deeper understanding of the digital transformation and effectively conveying societal changes amidst sustainability and innovation. His priority lies with creating a pleasant and considerate atmosphere, ensuring that his audience and guests feel comfortable during discourse.
Internationally engaged as a moderator, Tobias presents events in both German and English language. His focal points include the digital transformation and civic tech. Notably, he regularly moderates the Demo Day for the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany, associated with the Prototype Fund—an open-source funding program under the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). He also serves as a stage host for re:publica in Berlin. Further collaborations involve panels and moderations for organizations such as the Hippo AI Foundation, ada, and the Forum Environment and Development.
Prior to his moderation work, Tobias gained experience in various political consultancies, familiarizing himself with the operations of foundations and companies. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences at the University of Tampere in Finland, Tobias conducts qualitative empirical research on the conceptualization of health on mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and fitness trackers. His first article is on the Apple Watch Activity app.
