As part of the FIfF-Konferenz 2016 – in.visible systems, Melanie Stilz und Max Krüger will conduct a workshop on Peace Tech – From Hacker Camps and Peace Building in South Sudan to Global Maker Networks in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

The Peace Hack Camp is a global initiative focussing on the bottom-up use of digital technologies in peace building processes. They started out in Juba, bringing together local actors with a global network of innovators and community organisers, and have recently made their way to Colombia, where Peace Hack Camp will take place from November 20-24. In this workshop we will be connected with the organisers of the Colombia event as well as colleagues in Uganda to take a closer look at their use of technological innovation to support peace building efforts in Colombia and South Sudan. Ideation and prototyping will help us to get a better understanding of the possibilities and difficulties and engage in a discussion.
